How did we ever manage to get by without using mobile applications in our lives? There seems to be an app for just about everything from ordering groceries and medicines to tracking the cheapest gasoline and checking the current weather.
Governments and businesses also use apps to engage citizens and customers. The City of Boerne has offered an App for several years, but it has now been redesigned and upgraded to be a better engagement tool for the Boerne community.
“We needed an app that citizens can easily use on a day-to-day basis to connect with our city departments and Boerne Utilities in particular,” Communications Director Pamela Bransford said.
The free downloadable app is an ideal complement to the city’s website allowing easier access to the types of information citizens may want to reach from a mobile device.
According to Mike Raute, information technology director for the city of Boerne, “MyCivic, the company hired to create the new app, combined functionality, practicality, and usability with a stimulating look better than anyone else on the market.”
“The new Boerne app is a great extension of our community outreach efforts. The way the app looks, feels, and functions gives our citizens an interactive way to gather information about their community,” Bransford added.
The City of Boerne app is available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store now. If people previously downloaded the city’s app, they will need to delete the old app from their mobile devices and download the new app – it’s that quick and simple.
