NEW! PLEASE BE AWARE THAT AARP TAX AID FOUNDATION WILL STOP SERVICE FOR FREE TAX ASSISTANCE ON MONDAY, APRIL 15. THIS IS THE LAST DAY TO COME TO THE LIBRARY TO HAVE YOUR TAXES FILED, AND IS A NEW CHANGE. WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.
A FREE, volunteer-staffed* community service is available in Boerne, Kendall County and surrounding areas! We prepare and e-file individual income tax returns every year from February until tax day--and this includes FREE electronic filing. There are no income or age restrictions. Service is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The upstairs information desk at the library begins signup for this service ONE HOUR prior to the tax start time on each day.
We can assist with tax questions and complete virtually in IRS forms. Taxpayers must bring:
1. Copy of last year's return
2. Photo ID
3. Social Security Card
4. Health Insurance Information
Volunteers preparing tax returns are not IRS employees, but are trained and certified by the IRS.
Tax returns are prepared from February 4 through April 15 at the library:
Mondays 2 - 6 PM
Tuesdays 1 - 6 PM
Wednesdays 1 - 6 PM
The library site will be closed on Monday, February 18 (President's Day)
Kronkosky Senior Center, located at 17 Old San Antonio Rd., is another tax-preparation site. The hours there are:
Mondays 8 AM - 12 PM, including President's Day
